Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 04/22/2005

Number: 1

It was supposed to be a cloudy, rainy day today in Forsyth County, but we
had several hours of full sun, and two early arrivals.

And about 1:30 a fresh male Monarch floated back and forth across the driveway for about 20 minutes before disappearing. Common Milkweed here is just barely poking through the leaf litter, so it is a bit early for Monarchs.

A well-worn Gulf
Fritillary nectaring on Lady Williams apple blossoms appeared about noon and stayed around the orchard until the storms came about 6:30.
