Happy Mayday or in Astronomical terms. Cross Quarter day. No nesting reports so I have decided to report on the activity in the large tree next door. This tree does not have any leaves at the moment so there is some robin courting activity. There seems to be 2 male robins and one female trying to nest at the very tippy top of the tree. Of course, when the leaves come out the leaves will provide some cover for the nest. However, The rains have knocked down the nest. The male robin (wants to mate with the female)but, she does not seem interested as she flies away each time he approaches.I can't tell one male robin from the other male robin. But, perhaps she has already mated with the other one. Hopes this helps anyone doing reseach on this subject.
