Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

We saw our first monarch of the season at about 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 14th. It was flying over the small wildflower area called the Prairie Patch in the Ladd Arboretum in Evanston, Illinois. Several milkweed plants, about 8 inches high, were growing at the edge of the Prairie Patch. Temperature was in the upper 50s to low 60s.
