Monarch (OTHER Observations)

Date: 05/17/2005

Number: 1

Saw the second monarch of the season (three days after first sighting) at about 3 p.m. on May 17th. It was flying toward the western edge of the Northwestern University lagoon. Milkweed grows along the edge of the lagoon. Temperature was about 60 degrees F. Both sightings were 5 to 7 days earlier than we usually see monarchs.
