I spent a couple hours along the Fox River in Batavia, Illinois on 5/14. I
saw two or three common milkweed plants that were 8-10 inches high.
In my yard, I have two butterfly weed (Asclepias tuberosa) plants which have
slowing been sending up shoots and leafing out (about 4-5 inches now). We
also have two swamp milkweed plants (Asclepias incarnata) that are about 10
inches tall. No sign of monarchs yet though!
