I have about a dozen milkweed plants in my yard this year, and I'm growing a large patch of cosmos and salvia. The milkweed are about 2 feet high now.

Last year was a banner year for Monarchs eggs. I collected about 100 eggs and donated most of them to the Grove, a local nature center, where they were raised to butterflies and released. I check for eggs on the milkweed EVERY day, because when I don't collect them, bugs eat them. I think my neighbor's large patch of purple coneflowers, about 20 feet away from the milkweed, also helps attract the Monarchs.
