Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 05/26/2005

Number: 1

There have been very few sunny warm days so far this May. With 16 of the last 26 days with precipitation. However, today it is partly sunny with temperatures hovering around 70F with light SW winds. I finally saw my first Monarch flying away from me over the neighbors prairie garden. Couldn't sex it from this distance, but I did check the Common Milkweed (Asclepias syriaca) in the garden and found eggs.
