Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 06/01/2005

Number: 1

it was a male, nectaring on a marigold.
The milkweed was emerged two weeks ago, so they didn't
get here too early. I have common milkweed that
already has buds on, but most have just the leaves so
far. I've also seen a tiger swallowtail which is
early for me. I hope this is a much better year for
butterflies, in my own garden, and in the butterfly
house I work in at Beaver Creek Reserve Nature Center
here.
