We started seeing butterflies in large numbers, at least for our area, flying from south to north. We usually see some butterflies, but today was unusual. I don't know if they are just passing through or if they spent the night in the area because I am not familiar with their journey habits. I did see them in a Eucalyptus grove in Pismo Beach a couple of years ago - quite a sight!
