A veteran butterfly watcher from
Peterborough, reports seeing a Monarch this past
Saturday, June 11, near Cloyne, Ontario. Cloyne is
located north of Kingston. This is the only Monarch
he has seen this year so far. Last year, he saw his
first Monarch on June 3. Butterfly numbers and
diversity are still quite low this year as many
nectar plants are about a week and a half behind
schedule.
