We saw our first monarch late this afternoon-a faded female. She was flitting from milkweed patch to milkweed patch. I've got plenty of common milkweed ready to bloom but she picked the smallest little sprouts to lay her eggs on. I found six eggs this evening and brought them in. Last year we saw our first monarch on June 9th and the year before it was June 8th.
