Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 06/13/2005

Number: 1

Yesterday, June 13 at about 5:15 PM, saw a very fresh, very fast flying monarch in my yard in southwestern Loudoun County Virginia. This was my first for the year and the latest first I've ever had.

It appeared to be a male. For females however, there are about 15 purple milkweed plants, 50 stems of common milkweed (four plants) as well as a few stems of swamp milkweed and 20 small A. curassavica plants in the ground.
