Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 06/17/2005

Number: 1

Well, I saw something that resembles a monarch. It could have been a Viceroy. Anyhow this butterfly was much larger than any butterfly I have seen previously. It alighted and stayed for several minutes. It was about 5 inches long and about 6-inch wing span. I forgot to look for the white spots on the wings.
The black markings were very intense and the orange was also.
The sun came out today and the temperature is 75 degrees.
