Monarch Larva (FIRST sighted)

Date: 06/16/2005

Number: 1

I was out working in my garden and I decided to check the milkweed. I didn't see many holes in the leaves, so I didn't expect to find any eggs. But then I found 5 larva! I think they were only a 2 instar. So I took them into my rearing tub so I could keep an eye on them. I will put them in my screen cage when they get bigger so they can pupate in there and it is easier to let them emerge in a larger cage. Can't wait! They are back!
