I was out weeding in our school butterfly garden this morning when a very faded female fluttered in. She proceeded to lay eggs on all of the small milkweed. Some were so small that she bent them down to the ground while trying to lay eggs. She avoided all of the taller swamp, common, and showy milkweed. Just picked the stuff that had come up this year from last year's seed.
