I have never seen a Monarch migration before in the Okanagan Valley of British Columbia and am wondering if this is a new migrational path, or if bad weather had blown them off their regular course. There were literally thousands of them, traveling at about 30 miles an hour, heading north. They regularly alighted on the flowers in my garden, particularly the tamarisk tree, the shasta daisies, the lavendar and thyme. What a spectacular gift on the first day of summer.
