I spotted a Monarch while at the Blandy Experimental Farm State Arboretum in Boyce, VA at round noon. The sun was very hot with temp about 85 to 90. It was flying in a shaded area. I did not get to see if it was male or female. I have only spotted two Monarchs in my area this summer. I have about 50 milkweed plants in my garden and have found no eggs or larvae on them so far. Last year it was the middle of Aug. before any larvae were found.
