I spotted a monarch mectaring on a butterfly bush this afternoon.
This is the first monrach I have seen this year. Wings were slightly faded and it appeared smaller than average. I saw the same monarch the following day nectaring on the butterfly bushes. It was a bit skiddish. Local weather is hot and dry. I have been watering the butterfly bushes to make sure they keep blooming.
