On July 1st I found a 2 inch long Monarch caterpillar. It was 12:00 pm, very sunny, and about 80 degrees. I found the caterpillar on a milkweed plant in a large field full of milkweed. I searched the leaves of many other milkweeds but did not see any other caterpillars or eggs. This is the first Monarch caterpillar I have ever seen in person.
