There was a fresh bright monarch nectaring on the butterfly bushes in the backyard this afternoon. Weather conditions-Mostly sunny and 85 degrees with a few clouds and light E-SE breeze. There was another sighting on July 4th late in the afternoon. A thunderstorm passed thru around 2PM giving us 1.20" of much needed rain. I believe my milkweed patch is contributing to the local monarch population!
