This August I have found lots of caterpillars in my monarch garden. More than before. But this is the first year in which I saw they were turning black , dying and shrieveling up. What caused this? I don't use pesticide in my yard. A week later I had a few more , but not as much. but his time they survived and formed their caccoons.Every day I count between 3 or 4 sightings of monarchs.
