Monarch Fall Roost

Date: 09/05/2005

Number: 1

We have a one acre woods on our NE Iowa farm and for the last 2 days (since 9/3/05) have observed thousands of Monarchs roosting on the north side of the woods where they can feed on a nearby patch of red clover. The temps are still warm here, in the 70's at night and 80's during the day. There is a slight breeze from the south.
Like other observations there are a few dragonflies
in the same area.
