Monarch Fall Roost

Date: 09/06/2005

Number: 1

Tuesday, 9-6 At about 5:30 p.m. drove along the 1/4 mile long former roosting sight. One week ago saw thousands of Monarchs here. Tonight there are many more than over the weekend and last night. Very active up in the tree area but not over the alfalfa field nectaring. Did not ever see very many of them nectaring but there is alot of rotting fruit available in the choke cherry trees they roost in. Saw about 300 Monarchs again this drive by.
