Monarch (OTHER Observations)

Date: 09/06/2005

Number: 1

Oh my gosh! We couldn't believe our eyes when we went in the butterfly garden. The caterpillars were huge. They had grown to an inch long since Friday. We have gotten our school interested in taking care of the caterpillars. We tried to see if we could find their skin that they shed, but we couldn't. We did find evidence that there were different size caterpillars. My class decided that they were different ages just like the kids at our school. We also found an egg on the underside of one leaf. There are 10 caterpillars in all now.
