Monarch PEAK Migration

Date: 08/28/2005

Number: 1

August 28I am uncertain what they are doing here, but I sighted over 100 and possibly more monarchs in our trees. We have many trees on our property and my husband notice them 2 days ago (8/26/05). As of tonight they were still here. I don't know their flight path and if they have been here before. We have lived here for sometime now and haven't noticed them before. I was so excited about it that I wanted to learn more about what they really are doing. So I searched on the internet and found this web site.August 29I really do not know much about this. I just knew that it was unusual to see this many monarch butterflies at one time in your yard. I even came home at lunch today to see if they were still here. Which they were. Tonight it is around 6:00 PM and I was outside one time and did see a decrease in the number. I would imagine as of right now about 1/2 as many. I am going to go outside and try to observe them again.
