Monarch PEAK Migration

Date: 09/02/2005

Number: 1

While driving along the major expressway, highway 401, linking Montreal and Toronto today, there were many hundreds of monarchs crossing the roadway on their migration. Many were flying high enough to avoid being struck by the traffic; unfortunately there were far too many monarchs on the road after being hit. Hopefully, the vast majority of the butterflies will travel at a sufficient altitude to avoid similar perils along the migration route.
