We are planting milkweed in a ten' by fifty ' garden. We had to pull all of the weeds in the garden before the principal could rototill it. Now we are planting young milkweed plants and seeds. We will mulch it so the weeds don't grow. Hopefully, next year in the spring the milkweed will grow so it can be used by monarchs to lay eggs.

The second part of our project will be to plant nectar plants in another 10 x 50 foot plot in our WILD Site. By doing this, we are unpaving the way for monarchs.

We would like to find other schools doing projects like ours and find out how they are doing. Please let us know if you would like to e-mail our class.
