After lunch, we were going to the restroom. We sit outside on benches while groups go in the building to the restroom and observe our butterfly garden. As we were sitting down, one of my students shouted, "Look!!" There on the underside of the bench was a monarch chyrsalis. We were so excited!! We have been reading, observing and watching videos about monarchs and were delighted to see several butterflies in our grarden. Then, we found the caterpillars and watched them devour the swamp milkweed in the garden. BUT, WOW!!!!! To actually see a real chrysalis.
