I found the butterfly perched on the cement of my front porch, whereupon the body was being invaded by ants (yes, it was dead). Upon further consideration I decided to pick it up and place it behind the glass of an empty picture frame to show my father when he came home later in the day. He, being a biologist for over 15 years, confirmed that it was indeed a monarch butterfly. By chance I found this website and thought I could do my part in reporting this incident.
