On September 15, the students in my second grade class counted 24 monarch caterpillars on one Asclepias curassavica plant! I'm saving seeds so that next spring we can plant an entire bed of this beautiful milkweed variety. The monarchs definitely prefer it over A.incarnata, syriaca, and tuberosa.
