Monarch PEAK Migration

Date: 09/26/2005

Number: 1

I observed the Monarchs flying over my school during my recess duty. I was not counting them, but there were quite a few, at least 20 in 30 minutes. When I came home from work, I sat on my deck and counted the butterflies as they flew over my house. I counted 43 Monarchs in about an hour. The wind was blowing from the NNW and the butterflies were whizzing over my house! The conditions seemed perfect for their migration!
