Signs of Fall

Date: 09/27/2005

Number: 1

This morning while watching the Monarch migration at 11 AM CST, I was very surprised to see two bald eagles flying overhead at a height about 100 feet. They were riding the northeast breeze (5-10 mph) and hardly had to expend any energy flapping. Beautiful majestic birds doing figure eights and a few other bird dance steps that I'm not familiar with. This is the first time I have ever seen any eagles within the city limits here. They were definitely flying together and heading south just like the Monarchs. The temp here when I saw them was about 75 degrees with a cloudless sky.
