Monarch Fall Roost

Date: 10/02/2005

Number: 1

Zillons of Monarchs have been roosting at my mother's home out in the country since late last week. Sunday, after church, my children and I drove out to see the multitudes of butterflies. One of her pecan trees was just covered with Monarchs. However, the majority of the butterflies were in her backyard garden. When we stepped out into the backyard the Monarchs would take flight and there were so many flying up that the sound of the fluttering wings was louder than you might think a butterfly flap to be! The children were thrilled to see so many!
