Monarch PEAK Migration

Date: 10/02/2005

Number: 1

A big weekend for monarchs in Northeast Arkansas! There were
monarchs in all parts of town. I've never seen so many fluttering
wings in our school garden as I did on Sunday; there was a butterfly
nectaring on nearly every flower. Forty-nine were tagged, but that
didn't begin to include all that kept coming. About two thirds of
those tagged Sunday were male. We have had a large, steady stream of
monarchs arriving since then.
