Monarch PEAK Migration

Date: 10/04/2005

Number: 1

Seeing a steady flow of Monarchs in my butterfly garden. Unseasonably warm, 88 degrees with a strong southerly wind keeping some of the Monarchs tagged yesterday from venturing on. Still, I was able to tag 33 new ones today. They were so wind-blown and intent upon nectaring that I was able to easily, gently pick them up to tag them. A first for me! A cold front with strong northerly winds is expected tomorrow night.
