Monarch PEAK Migration

Date: 10/04/2005

Number: 1

For the past 2 evenings (Oct. 3rd and 4th) we have had hundreds of Monarchs roosting in the trees in our yard. Don't know how long they stay. We have had Monarchs come to asters and butterfly bush before, but never this many and have not seen them roosting before. It is a wondrous sight! I have taken pictures. Hope they turn out, as the light is dim. Seems a little late for them, thought they were usually here mid to late Sept. Wonder if anyone else here in central Missouri has them roosting?
