Monarch PEAK Migration

Date: 10/09/2005

Number: 1

I spent the weekend near the community of Old Glory in Stonewall County, just off Highway 283.

We were outside most of the time, and individual monarchs flew past steadily. Occasionally groups of 3 or 4 flew past. There was one roost in a mulberry tree and it included several dozen monarchs -- difficult to count accurately, but I believe it was about 125. Also, one group of about 40 monarchs flying more or less together.
