Finally used up the last of my tags over at Infirmary Mound Park near Granville OH --- caught 21 of them on October 5th, what fun!
I got down to my last tag about 630 pm when they were beginning to settle down for the night in some small trees in the middle of this huge field. I didn't want to leave with my LAST tag unused so I ended up chasing monarchs from tree to tree until one finally landed where I could net it! I found out that they will "unroost" even if they are twenty foot up if you just stand there and wave the net around but they are SO wary afterwards that I must have gone up and down the row of trees three or four times before I finally snagged one - talk about obsessed!
Normally I wouldn't harass them this way but it was my LAST tag for the YEAR!
