Last evening (Oct 11) around 5:30, the sun popped out from behind the clouds. It had been hiding for two days while it rained and drizzled. The monarchs came out of hiding and joined a kettle of hawks in a thermal drifting towards the southwest from downtown. Today is clear and warm. Monarchs are everywhere! At Congress Ave. and Third Street, a constant stream (3-20 visible in field of view at all times) passed among the traffic waiting at the light. Looking up in the clear blue sky with binoculars, revealed more and more streaming south by south west.
