Monarch PEAK Migration

Date: 10/13/2005

Number: 1

I've had the pleasure of watching hundreds of the beautiful butterflies fly right by our spot between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. each morning for the past week or so.
From what we can tell, they're flying in a southwestern direction.

It's amazing because whether it's a group of 10 or 20 or 1 or 2, they take the exact same route as the last group. A lot of them are flying at about 30 feet off the ground, but some of them come down close, 10 or 12 feet, and you can really appreciate their beauty. And their size! Some are pretty large!
