At the Butterfly Society of Virginia meeting at the Norfolk Botanical Gardens, Norfolk, Virginia, I was told by several members that they are still rearing [or have sighted] monarch caterpillars at this late date. September has been warm, no strong cold fronts yet. I hope they don't get caught in a freeze, which is likely in the next 3 weeks.
