It looks like our westerly winds are socking in our Monarchs, a thousand were at roost this morning! This was our largest roost so far! See the report with photos at http://www.rlephoto.com/monarch2005/monarch_10_17.htm

Yesterday was very windy and cold, then about 11am it became rainy, and stayed nasty ever since. I did get 100 Monarchs on the roost, 12 on the island and 5 at the hawkwatch. Not bad finding 127 Monarchs on a day like yesterday. Oh, while watching 2 Monarchs leave Fisherman Island to make the
16+ Mile water crossing I had the fortune to watch 4 Bottle-nosed
16+ Dolphins
right of shore playing.
