I bought a gallon container of milkweed from the local nursery in September. My first grade students found three eggs on the underside of the leaves. We watched and then they hatched. We watched and they grew bigger and bigger. We watched and they turned into a chysalis and then on October 11 a very large female Monarch emerged from her chysalis. Wow. She was beautiful. The other two emerged today and they are beautiful but much smaller. We will release them tomorrow and we hope they will make it to Mexico.
