Today, 15 Oct 05, we were birding at Honey Creek State Natural Area.
Saw 2 groups of monarchs in very different areas of the property that were "double digit or greater". The first group was in the upland area and consisted of about 25 - 30 butterflies. The second group was near the abandoned ranchhouse and consisted of about 20 butterflies. There were many singles seen through out the day. There was a big rain storm in Del Rio recently and perhaps they were blown this way as a result.
