Fifth graders had fun massing and measuring the bulbs. Extra bulbs were dissected and drawn. We made predictions of when we thought our tulips ould emerge and bloom. With all of this data we made beautiful (and educational) bar graphs. We planted our tulips this year as part of our annual fall clean up of the land lab. Our land lab ("Nature's Nest") is about 50 yards behind our school. Having a small school (153 children in seven grades) allows each class to have their own garden. The garden themes range from birds, butterflies, and reptile & amphibian gardens to a sensory garden at the Kindergarten level.
