Eric Goss found 6 monarch caterpillars munching our milkweed in the classroom garden this morning. We only have 6 swamp milkweed plants and 2 small shoots. We used the living lab in class today to teach about the monarch's host plant and life cycle. All of the students remembered the book about the hungry, hungry caterpillar and saw first hand the results on our milkweed plants.
