This weekend while canoeing up above the Rappahannock, we spotted a batch of butterflies all over what I believe are gall bushes. As we took pictures, we noticed one of them had a sticker or something on the wing. Upon closer inspection, we discovered a tagged monarch butterfly of all things.
I have contacted the email address and await any reply. I provide two pictures, FYI, one of the banded/stickered critter and the other a general picture of the monarchs. The approximate GPS coordinates of the spotting are Lat: 37-41-19 Long: 76-18-24 at 4:45 pm on Sunday, 10.23.05.

When I followed up with Monarch Watch later in 2005 or early 2006 they said they had no data sheet for this tag! They had no idea when it was tagged or where.
Ive emailed Jim Lovett at MW again to see if they have subsequently gotten a data sheet or any recovery data for it later in its journey.
