we saw several hundred monarchs at fort island gulf beach in crystal river, fl citrus county. they flew around us for a half hour or so, and roosted on goldenrods and small mangroves. they were still there when we left soon after sunset. we took some digital picture, which did not come out well. we could not determine which direction they came from.
