The Lourdes College Life Lab Program released eight, large and beautiful Lab-raised Monarchs today, November 2nd. Six of the eight were tagged two days after emerging from Chrysalides. All fed well before releasing on a sunshine-filled day that had a temperature high of 61 degrees with variable winds 1 to 4mph out of the WNW at the time of release, 12:45 p.m. Five of the tagged Monarchs took flight spiraling upward and then headed WSW. Among these were two tagged males named Chico Longfellow and Lux Escapade by middle-school students attending Life Lab classes this week.
