Signs of Fall

Date: 11/06/2005

Number: 1

I spotted 4 juvenile whooping cranes today in a field behind my home 2 miles northwest of New Lisbon this morning. They were grouped with about 30 sandhill cranes. I watched them take off following close behind 2 sandhill cranes that took off and then landed across the road with another large group of sand hill cranes. I witnessed through my binoculars what looked like green, white and red bands on their legs. I left a message at the Necedah Wildlife Refuge as to any information they would tell me about them. I was very excited and interested in knowing about what their status is. Thank you for allowing me to report my sighting!!
